Remembering Sherrie Conner Anthony: A Pillar of the Marshville Community

The Marshville community and beyond mourns the loss of Sherrie Conner Anthony, a cherished educator, loving family member, and devout churchgoer. In this tribute, we honor her life and the indelible mark she left on those fortunate enough to have known her.

A Life of Education and Faith

Sherrie Conner Anthony, at the age of 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Marshville. Born in Lincolnton, NC, she dedicated more than three decades of her life to enriching young minds as a High School English Teacher. However, her influence extended far beyond the classroom walls. Sherrie was deeply involved in the North Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell, leading ladies’ retreats for multiple churches and serving alongside her husband in ministry as the First Lady for over 30 years.

A Family-Centered Life

Sherrie’s love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Rev. Caroll Anthony, her daughter, Karen Smith, five grandchildren, a brother, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Conner, a daughter, Christi Phillips, and a granddaughter, Kaylen Phillips. Her devotion to her family was evident to all who knew her, creating a legacy of love that will live on for generations.

A Community’s Farewell

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate Sherrie’s life. The visitation will take place at the Family Life Center at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Marshville, a place that held great significance for Sherrie. The funeral services will be held in the church sanctuary, with Sherrie to be laid to rest in the church cemetery, a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much to her community.

Leaving a Lasting Legacy

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the building fund of Philadelphia Baptist Church, a cause close to Sherrie’s Heart. Those wishing to offer condolences online may do so through the Holland Funeral Service website, which is serving the Anthony family during this time.

The loss of Sherrie Conner Anthony is deeply felt by the Marshville obituary community and all who had the privilege of experiencing her kindness, wisdom, and faith. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the impact one individual can have. Sherrie’s legacy of education, faith, and love continues to inspire and resonate with all who knew her, making her memory a blessing to cherish forever.
